Does this sound familiar?

You want to feel confident, connected, and in control of your emotions, but your relationship with food and your body has taken over. You feel…

  • Lonely and isolated.

  • Weighed down by negative thoughts about yourself and your body.

  • Obsessed with what you eat, constantly worrying, or feeling guilty.

  • Stuck in a cycle of eating nothing or eating everything, or purging after eating. Maybe you eat very little, or feel completely out of control around food.

  • Unable to get comfortable in your body. You may even hate your body or avoid looking at yourself in the mirror.

To make things even harder, other parts of your life are not going the way you hoped because…

  • You find yourself people-pleasing and putting others’ needs before your own. You avoid conflict, say “yes” when you want to say “no,” and end up feeling resentful.

  • No matter how successful you are, you still don’t feel good enough and are constantly afraid of failing.

  • Your relationships don’t feel as fulfilling as you want them to, especially your relationship with yourself. You wish you had hobbies or creative outlets that brought you joy, but don’t know where to start or how to make time for them.

  • You feel numb, disconnected, or frozen. Or maybe your emotions feel overwhelming, intense, and difficult to manage.

  • Anxiety or depression feels like a constant background noise. You worry about small things and wish you could let it go.

Elizabeth Hammond, eating disorder, disordered eating, and trauma therapist in Providence, RI.

Hi! I’m Elizabeth.

I believe healing your relationship with food starts with healing your relationship with your body and yourself.

I specialize in working with women and members of the LGBTQIA+ community who feel controlled by their relationship food and dissatisfied in other areas of their lives as well. Our work together isn’t just about food, it’s about understanding how your eating disorder is connected to your relationship with yourself, your past experiences, and the ways you learned to cope.

In therapy, I help you reconnect with your body, learn to trust its wisdom, and approach healing in a holistic way. Together, we’ll build the insight and practical tools you need to feel more connected to yourself and the people around you.
